Support, security and guarantee during the stay

The Projects

They are our main support, selected based on the experience and relationships for 41 years of our director in the travel industry in the Cusco region, our offer is established based on characteristics of quality and safety services, both in personal aspects and in the activities carried out by our users. Within this framework, we have made a selection of activities on which the projects work, each of them has the appropriate conditions to achieve a positive experience for the volunteer and/or visitor, and the objective of benefit for the social environment of the area where they are developed.

Our proposal is based on an institutional “cluster” strategy, each of them having leadership of specialization in their sectors where they are developed, that is; are the best options, led by professionals and specialists with a proven track record in the Cusco region.

We are very clear about our responsibility with the provisions related to the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Agenda 30:

We intend to align our activities and projects with the vision of “Peru for the Sustainable Development Goals (PODS)” that was born as part of the Sustainable Peru program, a movement that seeks to disseminate the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs and inspire actions around them.

The objective of PODS is to identify and recognize those organizations from different sectors that are aligned with and contributing to the fulfillment of one or more SDGs in five categories: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Covenants.

It’s not about philanthropy. It’s about thinking about the future and recognizing that we are part of something bigger and that our actions have an impact. We try to make this positive in the experience of exchanging and aligning actions between people of different cultural backgrounds, to consolidate these objectives both in our country and in those of global origin.

Security

For us, security is a responsibility of the first order in all instances of our proposal. We understand security as a set of measures and actions implemented to protect the physical, psychological and economic integrity of visitors during their stay in the Cusco destination. To this end, our operational manual is a 24/7 priority in relation to our central operational axis “Machupicchu World Projects & Travel”, to all the service providers of each project, as well as to the local community. In each base headquarters of each of the projects, with the implication of guaranteeing the tranquility and confidence of the visitor during their stay, from planning to return home. Includes:

  • Ensure the availability of medical services and health care in the event of illness or accident. The main medical care network in our region, the Pardo – San José Clinics Consortium and its displaced services within the scope of our activities, where medical services are provided on alert for urgent and medical emergencies, as well as if necessary, the continuity of their care and medical processes within the hospital aspect, at its headquarters in the city of Cusco. Even one of our projects located in the wonder of the world Machupicchu, we carried it out with them.
  • We have close relations with POLTUR (Cusco Tourism Police), in relation to the prevention of accidents, robberies, aggressions and risk situations.
  • We consider the MINCETUR Tourist Protection Network for any major risk event
  • We guarantee the safety of the means of transport used, as well as carry out permanent security verification in hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions and other places of interest.
  • We provide clear and accurate information about the destination, including safe routes, precautions to take and available resources. In order to prevent incidents and protect against possible dangers.

Destination Staff

Our work structure has two levels of operation, the same that double operate in our projects, it is a unique and exceptional modality with particular characteristics that best guarantee the operability of the project, the stay and the services to be provided:

  • Destination Axis:

Staff with responsibilities within the city of Cusco and surrounding areas. Also, in permanent relationship directly and indirectly with the operational destinations, it involves management personnel and specialized workers.

  • Operational headquarters destinations:

Each destination, of the 5 projects with which we are starting our activities, has a responsible director or monitor (Owner and/or executive), who leads together with its work structure, the objectives, activities, results and specific responsibilities, according to the characteristics of each operational destination and related to the activities and consigned in the technical file that is the executing tool of the different monitors or project directors.

General, personal, circumstantial or unforeseen activities. They are managed from the “Home” headquarters, the central axis of management of contractual relations, by virtue of the contract signed between MACHUPICCHU WORLD PROJECTS & TRAVEL, and the future volunteer, where the scope of benefits and responsibilities of both parties are established.

Our Structural Value:

The structural value that we intend is a new experience, which promotes activities under an articulating model of a group of enterprises with different specialties, which work together to perform specific tasks in order to provide services linked to the travel industry. These undertakings are grouped around a management axis called “Tourism Cluster”, and together they collaborate to achieve greater capacity, performance or reliability compared to a unitary and/or individual system, forming a systemic unit (union of several smaller systems), which allows to manage with more quality and security a larger group of servers, with better options for voluntourism and its complement (in this case).  of the traditional trips that are presented as an offer of each destination.

    Salustio Escobedo Echegaray

    Ecological experience on an organic rainforest farm

    Extensive analytical capacity and knowledge in agricultural management, finance, administration. I am a proactive, analytical, upright person, oriented to maintain good relationships at all levels. Quick learning and very good teamwork.

    An economist by profession, now retired from the public sector, I am currently engaged in the agricultural activity in the fields of my property, located in the province of La Convention-Quillabamba, Echarati district, Department and Region of Cusco – Peru.

    The property is specifically located on the Pongo de Maynike penetration road, belonging to the Town Center of Palma Real, “Yomentoato Sector”.

    The current work I do is very much hand in hand with the community, thus avoiding personal and group conflicts, among the multiple activities that I currently carry out is the production of:

    Cocoa, Coffee, Annatto, Citrus fruits of different varieties, and on a small scale Banana, papaya, among others.

    I also have plantations of forest trees such as mahogany, passaco, in order to protect the environment, and always taking care of the environment.

    Otherwise, the place where my small farm is located is quite cozy because it is, my house surrounded by trees and very close to the Alto Urubamba River, a river that runs through the entire Peruvian east that after joining with tributary rivers flows into the Atlantic Ocean, taking the name of Amazon River. Not forgetting to see my farm, I also dedicated myself to practicing my profession in private and state sectors.

    Within my professional career, I was dedicated to:

    • Carry out consultancies.
    • Training workshops.
    • President of the Association of Cocoa Producers “APROCAP”, an institution that was financed by the United Nations through CODEVA.
    • Councillor in the Municipality of Echarati – The Convention
    • Administrator of a private company “Compañía de Arequipa Representaciones” CARSA in the city of Cusco and ISASA in the province of La Convención for many years.
    • Permanent Job appointed in the Municipality of Echarati in the positions of Mayoral Advisor, Chief of Staff, Administration, etc.
    • Among others.

    In conclusion, my interest has always been and is in agriculture, now dedicated exclusively to it.

    J. Germán Povea Arredondo

    Peruvian Tea, a Legendary Experience

    Mentor of the Project – “Peruvian Tea, a Legendary Experience”

    Julio Germán Povea is a Peruvian entrepreneur, a champion of cultural preservation, and founder of various initiatives under the POVEA brand, including the renowned Panificadora Povea and Povea ID, the company behind the premium tea line CALLITÉ, which has helped position Peruvian tea in international markets.

    Born in the city of Cusco in 1968, Germán spent part of his childhood (ages 5 to 8) at the historic Yanayaco Grande Hacienda House, located in the district of Huayopata, purchased by his parents during the Agrarian Reform (1975). This childhood experience, lived in a transitional agricultural setting, forged a deep connection to the land that would later define his life’s path.

    After decades of academic and business activity in Cusco, he made the pivotal decision to return to his roots. For the past 12 years, he has lived and worked in Huayopata, leading initiatives focused on reviving traditional agriculture, valuing ancestral knowledge, and driving local economic development based on sustainable practices.

    Germán has played a key role in the recent rise of Peruvian tea on the international stage, being instrumental in the first-ever export of Peruvian tea to France and Switzerland and gaining recognition in specialized and national media:

    With a profound connection to his homeland and a clear vision of the power of ancestral knowledge and regenerative agriculture, Germán now guides national and international volunteers through the Yanayaco Tea Farm. His purpose is to turn Huayopata into a living classroom of Andean identity, agroecology, and spirituality, uniting tradition with innovation.

    Dr. Alcides Vargas Echegaray

    Medical assistance in tourism and heritage

    32 years at the service of Cusco

    Dr. Alcides Vargas Echegaray was born on December 20 in the historic capital of Peru, Cusco. Graduated in medicine in Argentina, he returned to Peru, and began an arduous social medical work with the peasant population for several years, managing to accumulate in that experience about 30 thousand medical records, he was director and founder of his first office, better known as “the people’s health clinic”, previously located on Pardo Avenue in the city of Cusco. Currently, it is located as a private clinic on Av. La Cultura, one of the longest streets in Cusco. Later, he was also recognized as the “doctor of the poor”, for which he founded the San José Clinic. His impeccable and transcendental medical career in the Cusco community has left its mark on the local health community.

    He has held the highest management positions in health in Cusco. He has also dedicated himself to citizen service as a councilor of the administration of the great Qosqoruna Daniel Estrada. (He was a congressman of the Republic from 1995 until his death in 2003 and mayor of Cusco in two terms).

    His facet as a writer was recognized nationally and internationally; although not so much at the local level, since the old saying is true: “No one is a prophet in his own land”. Its motto can be summed up simply: A life dedicated to the health of the people of Cusco and the citizens of the world.

    In relation to the latter, in 1996 it began to outline in its clinical services, organized medical care in relation to traveler’s insurance. in its component of the health risks of national and foreign visitors to the City of Cusco, thus raising the tourist quality of the most important destination in Peru.

    Today, in the historical line that links it to tourism, its consortium of clinics based on the Pardo clinic, provides emergency care services. emergencies and rescues; in the area of the Historic Sanctuary of Machupicchu (Citadel, Inca Trail and Machupicchu Pueblo). Responsibility at the head of a cultural and natural heritage, which has even deserved the recognition of UNESCO

    Lic. Luis Arístides Vera Rebollar Villafuerte

    Luis Arístides Vera Rebollar Villafuerte is an educator and professional with over 15 years of experience in teaching English, specializing in basic, intermediate, and advanced levels, as well as in training students in various technical fields. He is currently pursuing a degree in Tourism and Travel Management at the University of Queensland, Australia, which strengthens his multidisciplinary approach and commitment to continuous learning.

    With a solid background in English, supported by his certification from the University of Michigan, and an outstanding career in institutions such as ICPNAC, SENATI, and CENFOTUR, Luis has demonstrated remarkable skill in language instruction, adapting to the needs of diverse educational environments. He has worked with students in technical and business areas, as well as in teacher training and team coordination.

    His professional experience includes monitoring and supervising work groups, marketing educational programs, and coordinating language assessment processes, allowing him to excel in leadership roles. Additionally, his expertise in teaching technical English has been key in preparing students for careers in gastronomy, tourism, and business administration, contributing to the strengthening of academic training in the region.

    Luis has also pursued training in various areas of English and pedagogy, participating in international teacher training programs and acquiring a diverse set of skills that enable him to apply innovative and active teaching methods. This, combined with his proficiency in advanced English and basic French, has allowed him to develop a comprehensive educational approach that supports the growth and development of his students.

    Born in Urubamba (Sacred Valley), he knows the agricultural process of his habitat to the fullest, with university studies in agronomy. More than 20 years of experience working with foreign volunteers of various educational levels in the Ollantaytambo and Huayopata basins. He has knowledge of advanced English, prepared for aspects of first aid and rescue care.
